espite its many spinoffs (like Galentine’s Day), Valentine’s Day can still feel exclusive—a day that reminds single people just how single they are.
While it’s completely valid to desire the romance this day celebrates, I’d like to suggest that Valentine’s Day could be something more—something bigger than romance. I believe it can and should be a day we celebrate love in its various forms.
Think back to those grade school days when Valentine’s Day meant shoeboxes fashioned into makeshift mailboxes with the help of construction paper. Remember those cute little cards you exchanged with your classmates, and the bonus of finding a heart-shaped lollipop attached to some of the cards.
